What I Offer
What I Offer
Navigating personal statements, supplements essays, Common App prompts, activity lists and scholarship essays can be overwhelming. Expert writing coaching helps your student complete the college admission journey with a boost of confidence.
The essays are designed to elicit something more meaningful than a recap of accomplishments. What college admissions committees really want to glean from the essay is a glimpse of your student’s soul.

College Essay Coaching Packages
Personal statement package ($600)
Using the basics of the Wow 10-step method, the personal statement package includes brainstorming, theme selection, prompts and exercises, editing, proofreading and final review. Your student and I will meet 3-4 times to develop their personal statement, either by phone or video conference. Your student will learn to craft an engaging essay in their own voice that only they could have written.
Supplementals (up to three) & Activities List ($600)
Many applicants underestimate the power of the Supplementals Essays to round out the essay and help your student distinguish themselves. Supplementals also provide crucial informations for admissions officers to gauge your student’s interest in their particular college, which matters because a college’s yield rate, the percentage of admitted students who choose to enroll, is considered a critical metric for establishing desirability. Activities List is another underutilized aspect of the Common App that can be impactful if approached tactically. While Supplemental Essays are shorter, they need to be of the same quality as the main essay. Students must understand the subtext of each prompt and craft answers with a consistent, compelling voice.
Complete application & essay package ($1100)
This package combines crafting the personal statement, same as above, and focussing the same attention to make sure Supplemental Essays and Activities List reinforce the same story the essay is telling.
Hourly coaching & editing ($100 per hour)
If you need limited guidance, I can customize my services to adapt to your preferences. Hourly services range from reviewing an essay already in progress, to editing and polishing for a final draft.

Start where you are—you own way of beginning the conversation. If you like, start young. By all means, start early, to avoid the October madness of senior year. Senior year is packed with activities, exams, applications, college visits, social events, sport competitions, concerts and plays. Getting the college essay out of the way the summer before senior year is an excellent, pro-active move. Instead of rushing, allowing a good three weeks for the essay will serve your student well. But regardless of the best intentions, come October, a student may be still be struggling to pull their essay together. I’m here for that too.
Whenever our starting point, we will move from a rough draft to an outstanding finished essay.
